In life people take everything for granted and don’t appreciate the things they have or the people that surround them. When you least expect it your impacted by something that will change your life forever. My mom has always had high expectations of me and I never agreed with her. One day came to change my life and forever made me appreciate my mom and everything she has done for me.
Every day after school my mom expects me to clean the house, throw out the trash and vacuum. One day coming home from school I was really tired and had lots of homework to do. “Lissette get up and come and clean now,” said my mom. Even though I am tired my mom doesn’t care. Every day she tells me the same thing that I have to help her out because she takes care of my little sister and two nephews and she is tired. Which makes me get mad because I tell her that I wake up early every day, go to school and have to do homework and she is always home just taking care of the children.
The day went by and I didn’t do anything that she had told me to do. I finished doing my homework and was ready to go to sleep. As soon as I laid down I hear, “Lissette you have five seconds to come and wash the dishes or else I’m going to take your phone away,” said my mom. “Oh my gosh I’m tired I’ll do it tomorrow,” I said. My mom went on comparing me with my sisters and how they would always help her every day without complaining and how I’m so lazy and don’t want to do anything. I decided to wash the dishes instead of hear my talk and making me more mad. After finishing washing the dishes all of a sudden I hear “Mom are you okay?,” said my brother. I ran to see what had happened and seen my mom unconscious. We ran to tell my dad and we began to give her air with a fan and rub rubbing alcohol on her.
After a few minutes she began to gain conscious and I insisted on taking her to the doctor but my mom didn’t want to so we respected her decision. The next day I didn’t go to school because her stomach was hurting and at some points she would lose her breath. I was feeling guilty because it was my fault that got mad since I didn’t listen to her and I was talking back to her and plus I knew that when gets mad she gets bloated and she has a hard time breathing.
Never in my life had I thought something like this would happen because of me. It made me realize and think about if my mom wasn’t here today I wouldn’t be where I’m at today and made me appreciate her even more and value everything she does for me. It changed the way I see everything that my mom does for me and in exchange I decided that I should help her out and not complain about it because one day when she is not by my side I am going to wish she was and going to wishes I would have treated her better.
